La Société de l’Apostolat Catholique est l’une des Congrégations des Prêtres et des Frères parmi tant d’autres, ensemble avec  les Laïcs, tous rassemblés dans « l’Union de l’Apostolat Catholique-UAC » qui est la Grande Famille fondée par Saint Vincent Pallotti (Prêtre romain) en 1835 en Italie.

La Société de l’Apostolat Catholique est connue sous le nom des Prêtres et des Frères Pallottins. Notre Charisme est de « Raviver la Foi, Rallumer la Charité et les propager dans le monde entier ». Ce Charisme est réalisé dans un Esprit d’Amour  et de Miséricorde Infinie de Dieu. Notre apostolat s’inspire du Christ qui est « l’Apôtre du Père Eternel ». Ainsi, tout baptisé est Apôtre. L’Esprit Saint reste toujours cet Amour qui unit le Père et le Fils et c’est Lui qui descend sur les Apôtres réunis au Cénacle de Jérusalem, ensemble avec la Sainte Vierge Marie. Cette dernière est notre éducatrice dans la prière avant tout activité apostolique. Elle est réellement la Reine des Apôtres.

Notre Saint Fondateur nous demande de toujours être guidé par la Parole de Dieu dans notre apostolat. Voila pourquoi ces versets bibliques étaient pour Lui les lignes-guide de son Apostolat :

• Is. 58, 7-8, 10-11: « partage ton pain avec l'affamé et les pauvres sans abri, tu les hébergeras, si tu vois quelqu'un nu, tu le couvriras: devant celui qui est ta propre chair, tu ne te déroberas pas. Alors ta lumière poindra comme l'aurore, et ton rétablissement s'opérera très vite. Ta justice marchera devant toi et la gloire du SEIGNEUR sera ton arrière-garde…si tu cèdes à l'affamé ta propre bouchée et si tu rassasies le gosier de l'humilié, ta lumière se lèvera dans les ténèbres, ton obscurité sera comme un midi. Sans cesse le Seigneur te guidera, en pleine fournaise il rassasiera ton gosier, tes os, il les cuirassera. Tu seras comme un jardin saturé, comme une fontaine d'eau dont les eaux ne déçoivent pas ».
• Ps.21, 23-29: “Je proclamerai ton Nom a mes Frères…je louerai ton Nom dans la Grande Assemblé». 
• 1Cor.13, 1-8,13 : « … la foi, l'espérance et l'amour demeurent,  mais l'amour est le plus grand ».
• Lk. 10, 1-9: “La moisson est abondante, mais les ouvriers sont peu nombreux. Priez donc le Maitre de la moisson d’envoyer des ouvriers à sa moisson ».

Les Pallottins sont arrivés au Rwanda en 1973 à la demande de son Excellence Monseigneur Jean Baptiste GAHAMANYI, évêque du Diocèse de Butare à cette époque. Pour le moment, les Pallottins œuvrent dans les Diocèses de :

• Butare: Maison de formation-Noviciat inter-africain
• Gikongoro : le service au Sanctuaire de la Vierge Marie de Kibeho et l’accueil des Pèlerins
• Kabgayi : le service à la Paroisse de Ruhango et au Sanctuaire de Jésus Miséricordieux
• Kigali : l’Administration provinciale (Maison Mère), le service des Paroisses de Gikondo, Kabuga et au Sanctuaire Jésus Miséricordieux de Kabuga, les Centres d’accueil des Pèlerins via Kibeho, l’imprimerie Pallotti Presse.
• Ruhengeri : le service à la Paroisse de Kinoni

LES CONDITIONS POUR L’ADMISSION

Pour ceux qui aspirent  devenir Prêtres ou Frères pallottins, voici les conditions :

• Etre chrétien catholique ayant reçu tous les sacrements d’Initiation et être active dans la pastorale paroissiale
• Etre célibataire
• Etre animé d’un désir de se consacrer à Dieu dans une communauté religieuse de vie apostolique
• Etre capable de vivre et de collaborer avec les autres de différentes cultures et nations
• Etre de bonne conduite, vie et mœurs
• Etre libre de toute obligation et de toute engagement vis-à-vis de sa famille et de ses tierces personnes et de ne pas avoir contracté des dettes
• Avoir une bonne santé physique et mentale
• Etre porteur d’un diplôme d’Etat permettant de poursuivre les études supérieures
• N’avoir pas dépassé au moins 25 ans au moment de l’admission, excepté ceux qui ont fait les études universitaires.
• Avoir participé au moins à trois sessions que nous organisons pendant les vacances

• Le Noviciat: un an canonique et spirituel
• Philosophie : 3ans
• Stage : 1an

The Society of Catholic Apostolate is one of the Congregations of the Priests and Brothers of Apostolic and Mission life. Making the integral part of the Union of Catholic Apostolate which unites the Priests, Brothers, Sisters and Lays, founded by Saint Vincent Pallotti in 1835 in Rome-Italy.

The Society of Catholic Apostolate is known by name as Pallottines Priests and Brothers. Our mission in the Church is “To spread the Catholic Faith and Rekindle love trough out the whole World”. Doing these by the leading of love of Christ which impels us (the impelling love of Christ or CARITAS CHRSTI URGET NOS 2 Cor.5, 14). As the perfect model Jesus Christ who himself the Apostle of Eternal Father.

In Pastoral activities, we do as the Apostles of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary is for us the perfect model of prayer before going out to evangelize the people. The pallottin’s spirit of apostolate is leaded by the Word of God founded in Holy Scriptures such as:

• Is.58, 7-8,10-11: “sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless, clothing the naked. When you see them and not turning your back on your own. Then, your light shall arise for you in the darkness and the gloom shall become for you like midday.
• Ps.21, 23-29: “I will proclaim your Name to the Assembly. In the community I will praise you”
• 1 Cor.13,1-8,13: “ Faith, Hope, Love, these three but the greatest of these is Love.
• Lk. 10,1-9: “ The harvest is abundant but the Laborers are few so ask the Master of the harvest to send out Laborers for his harvest”

The Society of Catholic Apostolate, known as the Pallottines Priests and Brothers has arrived in Rwanda in 1973 under the wish of his Excellency Bishop Jean Baptiste GAHAMANYI, the former Bishop of Butare Diocese. At the moment the Society of Catholic Apostolate works in various Dioceses:

• Butare Diocese: Noviciate (Nazareth House)
• Gikongoro Diocese: Kibeho (Sanctuary of Our Lady of Kibeho)
• Kabgayi Diocese: Ruhango Parish and Sanctuary of Divine Mercy
• Kigali Archdiocese: Gikondo Parish, Provincial House, Pilgrim’s Centres, Pallotti Presse Printing works, Kabuga Parish and Sanctuary of Divine Mercy.
• Ruhengeri Diocese: Kinoni Parish

CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION

For those who aspire to become Pallottine Priests or Brothers, the conditions are the following:

• Being Catholic Christian, baptized, confirmed and having pastoral activities in the Church
• Being single
• Being leaded by a desire of consecrating yourself to God with in a religious community of apostolic life
• Being capable of living and collaborating with the others whom you don’t have the same culture and native country.
• Being of good conductors in life and morals
• Being free from the all heavy family responsibilities and duties and all commitments in relation to family and relatives
• Having not contracted debts of the bank or state
• Having done the discernment of vocation with the help of pallottine Priest or Brother in charge of vocation in the Society of Catholic Apostolate
• Being known in the native Parish
• Having good physical and mental health
• Having not incurable diseases
• To be a diploma holder or qualifications that enable further studies
• Having the best marks and the curriculum of studies done
• Having all school reports from senior four to senior six
• Not above 25 years old at the moment of admission except those who were at University or other Institutions
• Having at least the experience of one year in the society life after studies
• Having participated in at least three seminars which we organize during holidays.

NB: Conditions are the same for those who aspire to become Priests or Brothers.
